Job Summary
- The Site Engineer under the supervision and direction of the project manager supervises the construction works progress at the site, controls the quality of construction material and the execution of the construction work., and writes inspection and eyewitness reports in the project journal including results of testing carried out in the Labs.
The Site/Field Engineer - Multi Location will have responsibilities that include:
- Make sure the construction works comply with the technical specifications, drawings, and contract terms and conditions.
- Monitor the contractor QA/QC program including testing materials and ensure that the quality of materials meets the project requirements.
- Conduct daily field inspections monitor work in progress and ensure the work meets the requirements of the plans and specifications and good work practice standards.
- Determine field changes, design engineering changes, and non-conformances.
- Review the contractor's work plan and make sure the schedule is followed.
- Plan and recommend procedures to be implemented by the contractor to ensure construction operations are within the requirements of engineering design and specifications.
- Work with contractor engineering and operating personnel to coordinate construction activities.
- Be able to stay in and travel at the project site and where it’s necessary in connection to project activities.
- Estimate the required quantity of the materials for the daily site activities.
- Prepare the log list and shortlisted items for the smooth implementation of the project.
- Prepare the baseline schedule for the projects in close coordination with the contractors.
- prepare the two-week lookahead schedule for the construction activities.
- Prepare the school improvement/rehabilitation plan based on the project scope and objectives.
- Collect the data from the site and report to the project manager.
- Prepare the site progress reports and submit them to the project manager.
- Assis the contractor and ensure to implementation of the project based on the scope and objectives.
- Prepare the draft as-built drawings of the site after completion of the project.
- Do other duties as assigned by the project manager.
Job Requirment
- MSc or BSc in Engineering (Civil Engineering)
- Experience:
- At least Five years of experience in construction projects.
- Knowing reading, interpreting, and implementing the engineering and technical drawings and specifications.
- Very well knowledge of construction quality management, safety, construction codes, etc.
- Understanding and practical knowledge of related laws and other regulations
- Language Requirements:
- Fluency in both written and spoken English, Pashtu and Dari
