AGENCY FOR ASSISTANCE AND DEVELOPMENT OF AFGHANISTAN (AADA)

AADA was founded in 2005 with the main aim of providing quality health and social services, professional capacity building, and promotion of equal access of communities to developmental and humanitarian services. AADA also responds to the needs of the Afghan people in accordance with the principles and fundamentals of civil society organizations. Quality improvement, geographic expansion, diversification of funding, institutional development, gender equity, women empowerment and community development are among the main strategic directions reflected in the “AADA Strategic Plan”. In its long life AADA has operated in 33 provinces of Afghanistan and has successfully implemented more than 125 health and health-related projects, including 28 education/capacity development projects. AADA is a multi-donor funded organization in partnership with the Government of Afghanistan and other international donors including USAID, World Bank, Global Fund and UN agencies.

Job Summary

    •  Under direct supervision of the technical manager and provincial manager, the Project Coordinator has the overall responsibility for the execution of the UNFPA-funded project against the agreed objectives and within the agreed budgets in Paktia province;
       Coordination of the project activities in collaboration with the regional health cluster, Provincial Public Health Directorate (PPHD), PHCC members, BPHS implementer and community;
       Close coordination of the project activities with the BPHS implementer to avoid duplication of services and wastage of recourses;
       Attend regular and ad hoc meetings of regional health cluster and other coordination meetings with BPHS implementer; 
       

The Project Coordinator - Paktia will have responsibilities that include:

    •  Responsible for the planning, implementation and training activities; 
        Monitoring of mobile health teams monthly;
       Coordinate establishment of new MHTs with PPHD in Paktia ; 
       Ensuring that “Do No Harm” practices are incorporated and upheld throughout the planning and implementation of the project;  
       Liaise with Kabul technical manager and provincial director based in Paktia to develop and implement effective supervision and monitoring systems that will allow gaps and constraints identification and improvement;
       Prepare accurate report according to project objectives and submission timely;
       Ensuring proper pharmacy management of MHTs that includes the consumption, supplies, stocks, rational use of drug etc... 
       Meet regularly with health shuras, community leaders and other stakeholders, to ensure project effectiveness and community involvement in project implementation; 
       Responsible for safety and well-being of all team members in conjunction with project manager in Paktia;
       Maintaining good working relations with key actors in the province;

Job Requirment

    • Registered Medical Doctor with three years’ experience in project management, BPHS supervision and monitoring;  
      •    Proficient in MS office (esp. excel and word);
      •    To be local resident;
      •    Must have working knowledge of English;
      •    Willingness and ability to travel to remote health facilities and villages;
      •    Fluency in written and spoken local languages;  
      •    Knowledge of local environment;
