The Norwegian Afghanistan Committee (NAC) is a member-based solidarity organization that has been working in support and solidarity with the Afghan people for more than 35 years. The Norwegian Afghanistan Committee (NAC) has a zero tolerance of sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment (SEAH) both within the organization and of beneficiaries. Prevention of and protection from sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment (PSEAH) is the individual and collective responsibility of all NAC officers, management, staff, consultants, and volunteers, who are all required to familiarize themselves with, agree to, and act in accordance with NAC’s Ethical Guidelines and Commitment, NAC Child Protection Policy, and NAC PSEAH Policy, at all times – both during and outside working hours – and participate actively in introductory and refresher trainings. Any breaches of PSEAH clauses in NAC’s policies, guidelines, and/or commitments will lead to immediate termination and possible legal actions.

Job Summary

    Basic Role: The primary responsibility of the Community Mobilizer/Agriculture is effective community mobilization to implement the Emergency Food Security Project. The post holder will ensure that project activities are well understood and accepted by the target community, developed through proper community mobilization, and ensure that the neediest and eligible beneficiaries are selected based on the project criteria. The mobilizer will also be responsible for delivering technical agricultural training and support to the community.


The NAC Jobs in Ghazni (Community Mobilizer/Agriculture) will have responsibilities that include:

    Conduct community mobilization, sensitization, assessments, and beneficiary profile surveys through KOBO within the target communities. Support project-relevant data collection in project coverage areas.

    Develop and implement community mobilization strategies and action plans in collaboration with project staff and community members. Ensure that appropriate community mobilization curricula, materials, and discussion guidelines are prepared, reviewed, updated, and followed.

    Organize and facilitate community meetings, training, and events to raise awareness, build consensus, and foster community participation.

     

    Receive and ensure the safe storage of inputs at the district centers and identified distribution points.

    Conduct training sessions designed for the project beneficiaries, specifically focusing on agricultural techniques and practices.

    Conduct the distribution of agricultural inputs to the selected beneficiaries.

    Build and maintain positive relationships with community leaders, stakeholders, and partner organizations to mobilize support and resources for project activities.

    Provide training, capacity building, and support to community members to enhance their skills, knowledge, and capacity for active participation and leadership in agriculture.

    Collect and manage data on community engagement and participation to track progress and inform decision-making.

    Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of community mobilization activities, identify lessons learned, and recommend adjustments to improve outcomes.

    Provide timely support and information sharing with project beneficiaries during any event or time of agricultural input distribution.

     

    Provide support to the M&E Officer for proper documentation of distributed items and other activities.

    Conduct post-distribution monitoring visits to project implementation sites.

    Any other activities assigned by the provincial project lead and/or supervisor.

     

    Supervision:

    Mobilize and make communities aware of project objectives, outputs, activities, and M&E systems.

    Facilitate project and activities information dissemination at all events.

    Prepare and implement action plans for quality monitoring.

    Facilitate project and activities information dissemination at all events such as training and workshops.

     

    Reports and Coordination:

    Coordinate the NAC’s activities under the agriculture project and build effective coordination and cooperation among all stakeholders.

    Collect data and write periodic reports (weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly), in addition to distribution reports which should be completed after each distribution of the project inputs to beneficiaries.

    Report directly to the Project Coordinator.


Job Requirment

    Language requirements, if any:

    Local language with preferred English

     

    Qualifications and Requirements:

    Education in agronomy, horticulture, or other agricultural fields is mandatory

    Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in community mobilization and agricultural projects.

    Proven experience in delivering technical agricultural training.

    Strong organizational and communication skills.

    Ability to work effectively with diverse community groups and stakeholders.

    Proficiency in using data collection tools like KOBO.

     

     

    Work Experience:

    At least 2-3 years of experience in community mobilization and agricultural projects.

     

    Skills:

    Good training skills on agriculture-related topics and other related topics

    Working in emergency teams

    Being part of assessment team

    Good skill of coordination and cooperation with local communities

    Should understand local norms and culture
