The head office is situated in Kabul, serving the central and eastern regions. One regional office is in Herat (western region), and another in Mazar-i-Sharif (northern and north-eastern region). In 17 provinces, smaller field offices are in place. DCA training centers can be found in Charikar (80 km north of Kabul), in Herat, and Mazar-i-Sharif. The Dutch office of DCA Livestock Programs is located at Arnhemseweg 2, 3817 CH Amersfoort, The Netherlands.
Job Summary
- Interns must meet the following criteria for entrance into the program:
- Satisfactory completion of the bachelor’s level. Should be a fresh graduate of a recognized university (veterinary faculty), (2022-2024).
- Demonstrated interest and commitment to veterinary services, animal husbandry, and livestock extension services.
- Intern should be willing to learn and have a feasible plan to address the practical work experience shortfall and barriers.
- Interns must show a desire to learn and actively participate in events and field works.
- Strong interest in addressing the farmer’s needs of the targeted beneficiaries.
- Ability to participate full-time during the internship for 6 consecutive months.
- Intern should be from the same province or permanent resident.
- Support DCA’s mission, vision, and value statements.
- The intern should have the ability to effectively communicate with the communities.
- The applicant/interns should not previously participate in any internship programs and not have any previous contractual agreement with the organizations.
The Internship (DVM), 32 Vacancies will have responsibilities that include:
- Good understanding of English (written and spoken)
- Understanding of Microsoft Office.
- Has good communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and show initiative
- Interested to work in the field (spend more time in the field about 70%)
- Respect human rights.
- Respect the gender rights
- Official hours working are from 8:00 am up to 4 pm
- Conduct themselves at all times in accordance with the standards of conduct expected of a person working in an international environment.
