AGENCY FOR ASSISTANCE AND DEVELOPMENT OF AFGHANISTAN (AADA)
AADA was founded in 2005 with the main aim of providing quality health and social services, professional capacity building, and promotion of equal access of communities to developmental and humanitarian services. AADA also responds to the needs of the Afghan people in accordance with the principles and fundamentals of civil society organizations.
Quality improvement, geographic expansion, diversification of funding, institutional development, gender equity, women empowerment and community development are among the main strategic directions reflected in the “AADA Strategic Plan”.
In its long life AADA has operated in 33 provinces of Afghanistan and has successfully implemented more than 125 health and health-related projects, including 28 education/capacity development projects. AADA is a multi-donor funded organization in partnership with the Government of Afghanistan and other international donors including USAID, World Bank, Global Fund and UN agencies.
Job Summary
- Under the guidance and supervision of the project technical manager the Sr Pharmacy officer has the overall responsibility of pharmaceutical management in the Herat province
- Responsible for the efficient running of the medical warehouse in Herat.
- Conduct on-the-job training on FEFO, FIFO, MDS and RUD-related issues to subordinates.
- Ensure safe, clean and proper storage of all medicine and other medical equipment within the warehouse;
- Accurate documentation and calculation of drugs in stock, drugs issued to the health and HPs;
- Implement and manage a system of stock cards are kept for all items, showing the actual balance in the warehouse;
- Medical supplies arriving from any destination should be checked against the packing list/waybill and properly stored;
The AADA Jobs in Herat, (Senior Pharmacy Officer) will have responsibilities that include:
- Ensure that all goods are sent out from the warehouse to HFs with properly completed waybills;
- Send all waybills and GRNs to the office of origin quickly and accurately, signing and noting any discrepancies;
- Physical inventory of medicines quarterly to ensure adequate stocks are available in the provincial warehouse at all times
- Analyze drug consumption patterns from the HFs reports to develop standard drug supply systems to prevent stock ruptures, misuse or wastage.
- Ensure expired drugs are separated and kept separate from other stock and the technical manager is notified timely to facilitate its disposal
- Make periodic visits to HFs to supervise stock management practices and record-keeping
Job Requirment
- Registered Pharmacist (Pharma-D)
- At least two years of experience in a similar position;
- Good written and spoken English and local languages;
- Having skills in computer applications such as Excel, Outlook and MW.
- Proven experience in the management of drug system
