AGENCY FOR ASSISTANCE AND DEVELOPMENT OF AFGHANISTAN (AADA)
AADA was founded in 2005 with the main aim of providing quality health and social services, professional capacity building, and promotion of equal access of communities to developmental and humanitarian services. AADA also responds to the needs of the Afghan people in accordance with the principles and fundamentals of civil society organizations.
Quality improvement, geographic expansion, diversification of funding, institutional development, gender equity, women empowerment and community development are among the main strategic directions reflected in the “AADA Strategic Plan”.
In its long life AADA has operated in 33 provinces of Afghanistan and has successfully implemented more than 125 health and health-related projects, including 28 education/capacity development projects. AADA is a multi-donor funded organization in partnership with the Government of Afghanistan and other international donors including USAID, World Bank, Global Fund and UN agencies.
Job Summary
- Under the guidance and supervision of Sr Pharmacy Officer has the responsibility of supporting pharmaceutical management in the Herat province;
- Packages and labels units of medications and supplies for distribution to other facilities;
- Work in liaison with the Sr Pharmacy officer in issuing drug requisitions and medical supplies from health facilities;
- Ensure stock cards are updated from time to time indicating quantity received, issued out and the balance.
The AADA Jobs in Herat, (Pharmacy Officer) will have responsibilities that include:
- Ensure monthly drug consumption is compiled and submitted to line supervisor
- Assist the Sr Pharmacy office in conducting drug and medical commodity inventory checks monthly
- Conduct monthly supervision visits to HFs;
- Ensure drug shelves are well labelled for easy identification of drugs and stock cards are used for each of the drugs in the pharmacy
- Maintain records of drugs and supplies in a clearly defined filing system, which is maintained allowing easy access for other users and complete administration duties as required e.g. photocopying.
- Ensure appropriate temperatures are monitored daily
Job Requirment
- Registered Pharmacist (D-Pharma)
- At least two years of experience in a similar position;
- Fluency in written and spoken local language;
- Having skills in computer applications such as Excel, Outlook and Microsoft Word.
- Ability and willingness to travel to rural locations;
- Knowledge of local environments
